P.S. 183's After School Program is run by the Imogen Foundation (IF). IF Afterschool programs support the social and emotional wellness of children by providing project-based activities that are active, expressive, and creative, in a warm and nurturing environment within their own school building.
Afterschool programs operate every day after school, from the first Monday that schools are in session in September, through the last Friday that schools are open in June. From IF Afterschool: "We provide high-quality childcare with a diverse menu of enrichment activities. On the days you sign up for our program, we will receive your child directly from their classroom teacher. They will receive a healthy snack, unwind, and socialize with friends. They will participate in a specialty class, which you select during registration, led by a professional educator for an hour and fifteen minutes of instructional time. After the class, your child will select from a daily menu of choice time activities including sports, arts, games, and homework help, until dismissal."
The afterschool program runs:
10:55 am – 11:45 am – Kindergarten & First Grade lunch and recess
11:50 am – 12:40 pm – Second & Fifth Grade lunch and recess
12:45 pm - 1:35 pm Third & Fourth Grade lunch and recess
IF Afterschool is a fully licensed childcare provider with the NYS Department of Health Office of Children and Family Services.
