P.S. 183 is a neighborhood school committed to providing its students with a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum – addressing the needs of individual students in order to build a solid academic and social/emotional foundation. Our child-centered instructional programs allow students to be active thinkers, develop curiosities, discover hidden passions, and grow their interests and talents. To support this vision, we tap into the many resources of our multi-faceted community. We provide the resources, materials, and professional development to ensure high quality instruction while maximizing the expertise which each teacher and school community member can contribute. It is our goal that students who graduate from P.S. 183 have the social and academic skills necessary to become future leaders in their community, their city, and the larger world beyond New York City.
